Summertime

Random Zits cartoon, thought it was funny

I remember summertime was a time of looking forward to running around on the lawn, waking up late and watching cartoons in my pajamas, and finding random friends to play with.
Now what is summer to me? A time to earn money before school starts again. This summer instead of making plans to hang with friends or something, I made plans to work. I'm going to Washington state and staying with my grandparents for two months, to work. not one, but probably two jobs. I'm the eldest child of 4, my parents don't have extra cash to give me when I want something. So, I'm working for it instead.
I'm actually looking forward toward the end of summer. Why? Because instead of flying back to Phoenix from Washington, I'm flying to San Antonio Texas to help my boyfriend move here. Not only will he move here, he's going to move in with me. So it's not the summer I'm looking forward to, its the end of it, when I'll be with him.

ENG 105- Pulp Fiction

my topic to watch for in this movie was Ethics. I think my favorite scene to show the ethical aspect of this was when the two characters Marsellus and Butch are capture and then Marsellus is raped by two gay men. Butch was able to get free and even though only min before he wanted to kill Marsellus, he went back and saved him from the two gay men. It was ethically write that he should try and save a man in trouble, no matter what his feelings toward the man were.

I'm not really sure how this movie fit in with the class. I really enjoyed it but in my mind I couldn't find any real educational purpose. I guess I'll find out more when I read my classmates blogs on their topics.

Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

A very good friend of mine is a terrific creative writer. He can take you away with a few words and paint pictures in your head. He has always given me confidence to keep up my writing. So when I was told for an English homework assignment that I had to mimic someone's style of writing, I picked his. He recently wrote a poem that each section was a period of time. Yesterday, Today, Now, and Tomorrow. Using those four, I created this version of my own poem:

Today I realized my mistake.
I live like life is forever.

Tomorrow I will change this error.
I will make it up to you.

Yesterday, I tied our hearts up and threw them away.
I hurt us both, thinking I will fix it later.

Now, I hope to live where we can still laugh and wish together.
I hope to change the way I live, starting with you.

Today, I apologized.
I made it up to you.
I vowed to cherish our love each day.

Today, I will love you more than yesterday,
But not as much as tomorrow.

Poetic

Two old love poems I've had for a couple years.

To Love…

To love is to care
To love is to feel
To love is to laugh
To love is to cry
To love is to be happy
To love is to be sad
To love is to be joyful
To love is to be angry
To love is to be loved
To love is to be hated
To love is to give
To love is to receive
To love is to live
To love is forever.

Loving you

“How do I love thee?”
There is more than one way,
My loving you each day.
I’ve never felt so much before
this great emotion between you and me.
I know my love will never stray,
in no way will it go away,
my love will last forever.
so join your life with mine,
let’s unite our hearts,
while our souls intertwine.
we will become one,
everything will be divine,
our new life has begun!

Spring Break!

I'm sure there are going to be a lot of posts about spring break this week from my fellow ENG 105 class bloggers. What else could be an easier topic? Of course most of them will have something exciting to say. Me, I'm at my parent's house for the week. I've started it off with getting my hair dyed, very happy about. I'm now a red brunette, instead of part blonde, part orange brown. That's that I get for letting my dye fade and my natural hair come back. Now it's fixed and, though I'm not entirely, I think it's sexy. Everyone else is blonde or brunette, I've done something unique in my opinion.
On the flip side, I brought my xbox 360 so my dad and I can do some gaming. We stayed up till 2am last night playing, I don't think there are many people that can say they had fun gaming with their parents and that they stayed up as late. We're trying out this game called Army of Two. While incredibly violent like most army games, you have to laugh at some of the lines in it. It's amazing to have a game where you are forced to work with your partner and actually do team work. I think the best part so far has been being able to drag your team mate out of battle when he's wounded and then patch him up. Much more realistic than the dying then suddenly your alive again.
It's a game I highly recommend.

Gamer Chicks

Every girl understands the consequences when she goes into an online game. We're either going to get teamed up with the jerks that think we're fat and ugly dykes or we end up the guys that feel like they have to do better than us and if they can't keep up they disappear. On the other hand, we can end up with the guy that suddenly becomes obsessive. "Oh my god, it's a girl! We have to become friends! What's your name? Where do you live? Can I have your number?"
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have the creeper stalker than the jerk cause the stalker at least tries to work with me. It just gets annoying. Rarely can we find guys that are just cool with us, accept the fact that we're girls and team well. If guys would just understand we like this type so much better, we'd be able to like them more and enjoy playing with them (or against).
We're slowly starting to get accepted into the gaming world, but we're still having to prove ourselves. Thankfully there's groups like the Fragdolls that are a nationally playing , all female, team that can show guys that we can play. Then there's also the comic Ctrl+Alt+Del (you may have seen in the name my links list) that deals with all sorts of gaming subjects. It makes fun of them, it compliments them, and it even has created a "religion" based solely on gaming through one of the main characters. My favorite thing about it besides it being funny is the incorporation of the gamer chick. Leah is portrayed as an even better gamer than her crazy obsessed with gaming, boyfriend. I just in general love how much she is shown kicking ass.
Girl's can play games guys, get over it.

Creative Side

Just to start things off I thought I'd show my creative side. Below is a poem I wrote back in November 2005. It's a depressing one because I wrote it after a break up, although a lot of writers get their best writing after an emotional occasion.

I am lost, can’t you see?

I thought I had found the path,

The path to happiness

But one word, one mistake,

That path has crumbled.

As it falls beneath my feet,

I too fall, I fall into the darkness.

I am lost, can’t you see?

I thought I had found the light,

The light to my path.

But that light has died.

I am in that darkness,

The one that comforts the broken

I suppose I am broken now too.

I am lost, can’t you see?

I thought I had found the way,

The way to feeling free,

But I am weighted down again

My wings are torn and broken like me,

I can not fly out of the darkness.

I can not find my way…

I am lost, can’t you see?
